Favre credits Bill Curry speech

Eric Mangini has brought in a long list of speakers to address the team prior to games over his two plus years as coach. The latest one was former NFL player and college coach Bill Curry.

Curry is known as a great motivational speaker and is currently running a leadership program at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was also recently named the football coach at Georgia State University, which will start their program in 2010.

Curry is a former Pro Bowl center with the Baltimore Colts, and started for the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl I.

Curry emphasized the importance of team unity in his address to the Jets players at the team hotel on Saturday night.

"We continue to build together as a team and come together," said Brett Favre. "That is the one thing that Bill Curry addressed over and over: team. The one thing you'll miss when you leave the game is the team, the guys you are around. I've been fortunate enough to play with a lot of great guys and good characters along with way. I think this team is full of them."
