Coles looks good for Sunday

The Jets got some good news on the injury front. It looks like wide receiver Laveranues Coles will start on Sunday.

Coles is dealing hamstring and concussion issues, but practiced full on Friday, and will start on Sunday.

It was assumed by some, including this website, that Coles was a longshot to play on Sunday due to the concussion. After all, Coles has had several concussions in recent years. However, this last one seems very minor, and Coles has been 100 percent the last few days.

Coles' good health is very positive news for the Jets, not just because he's a very good player, but because the Jets other starting wideout, Jerricho Cotchery, might not play due to a left shoulder injury.

In other injury news, tight end Bubba Franks is listed as "doubtful" and might not play on Sunday.

Franks is listed with a hip injury, but probably has a groin pull. The Jets don't list groins.

But Mangini still thinks there is a chance that Franks could play against Kansas City.

"He is rehabbing his injury," said Mangini. "We'll just see how it goes. It's like any of the other injuries. We'll see when we get closer to the game time and make a decision. There is a possibility (Franks plays), but you have to see what happens here through Sunday."
