Harris' injury complicates another matter

With David Harris out with a groin injury, the Jets aren't just losing a starting linebacker.

Harris also calls the defensive signals, and is the Jets defender who has been wearing the radio helmet.

Remember, the NFL approved defensive radio helmets for the first time this year. In the past, the only player who could wear one of these was the quarterback. Harris is the designated defensive player who wears the radio helmet. This is how the defensive play is sent in from the sideline.

With Harris out, the Jets will have to give a different player the defensive helmet. We hear that player is going to be Eric Barton.
