Schottenheimer gets new contract

Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer received a new contract from the team. The announcement was made by Dave Hutchinson.

"The Jets have signed offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to a contract extension and he will stay with the club, someone with knowledge of the situation said today," wrote Hutchinson in the Newark Star-Ledger. "Schottenheimer, 35, had one year left on a contract that paid him roughly $1.5 million this upcoming season. It's believed he received a two-year extension that'll bump his salary to nearly $2 million in 2009."
