Even though Brett Favre spearheaded the team's collapse down the stretch, Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum feels good about the trade.
"I feel really good about the Brett decision. He did a lot of good things for us last year," Tannenbaum told Steak Shapiro on 79O AM in Atlanta on Tuesday morning. "Obviously, some of that was overshadowed by Miami's improvement within the division. We were able to win five more games with Brett then we were the year before. I think he did a lot for our organization off the field. He was a tremendous teammate."
Mike, would Chad Pennington have been able to win five more games with the improved offensive line, running game and defense? Perhaps. Was Favre a tremendous teammate? That is debatable.
As for the third point, Tannenbaum is 100 percent correct when he said, "Favre did a lot for our organization off the field."
