Ravens release CB Chris McAllister

The Jets could use a cornerback to start opposite Darrelle Revis, so that fact that Baltimore CB Chris McAllister was released on Monday must have their attention.

The three-time Pro Bowler, now 31, still has a burning desire to play.

"I'm still dealing with the shock of the whole thing," said McAllister. "I can't imagine that this happened. I never thought it would hapen. I'll bounce back. I still love football. I still want to play football."

"He's a tough guy and loves football," said Ravens coach John Harbaugh. "He'll play again, and he'll play well."

McAllister, who had knee surgery last season, won't be ready until June, so it might be a few months before he signs with another team.

You have to figure the Jets would be a suitor for the former first round pick.
