Colts place Ismael on IR

The Colts will head into the Meadowlands on Saturday without one of their deep threats.

The Colts placed wide receiver Qadry Ismael on the IR this week, after the concussion he suffered against the Giants last weekend. Ismael had 462 yards receiving on the season, along with three touchdowns.

The Jets have bigger things to worry about, such as wide receiver Marvin Harrison, who shattered the NFL record books with his 143-catch season. He also had 1,722 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

"It seems like if you don't double team him, they throw him the ball," said head coach Herman Edwards. "So maybe you have to double the guy every play.

Harrison will certainly provide a tough challenge for the Jet secondary. In addition to having great hands, he is also one of the fastest players in the NFL.

The Jets are re-sodding the Meadowlands field just in time for the game, a project said to cost $120,000 dollars. This will be the last season of a grass-field at the Giants stadium. Expect to see some form of field turf next year.

Punter Matt Turk has an abdominal strain, but is probable, and expected to play on Saturday. Turk has been bothered by a sore back for much of the season, which has attributed to a poor yards per punt average.
