QB play at mini-camp means little

To review the play of quarterbacks in mini-camp is a difficult proposition.

I can't do it.

There is no tackling and no real pass rushing.

The reason there is no real pass rushing is because plays go on, even after a probable sacks, because coaches don't want to waste reps. They still want the receivers and defensive backs to work on their ball skills. So even after plays that look like a sacks, the quarterback still throws the ball.

Since Kellens Clemens has had pocket presence issues in the past, how can you judge if he's improved in this kind of scenario?

As for Brett Ratliff, we know very little about this pocket presence, so these drills don't tell us much.

So in my opinion neither quarterback "forged ahead" in this voluntary mini-camp.
