Jets sign Matt Slauson

The New York Jets have signed sixth-round draft pick OL Matt Slauson (Colorado Springs, CO).

Slauson (OL, 6-5, 340, Nebraska), selected in the sixth round (193 overall) by the Jets in the 2009 NFL Draft, played in 48 games, starting 35 at Nebraska. He started his senior season at right guard, where he received first-team All-Big 12 honors from the San Antonio Express-News and second-team all-conference recognition by several other sources. In 2007, he started at three different positions, including both tackle spots, earning honorable mention Big 12 from the Associated Press and second-team all-Big 12 by He started at right tackle in 2006 for an offense that ranked among the nation's leaders in both rushing and passing and finished 14th in total offense.
