The Jets release long-snapper Anthony Harris

The New York Jets have waived DT/LS Anthony Harris. The announcement was made by Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Harris (Western New Mexico/Rollins Fork, MS/6-3/287) signed with the Jets on May 4, 2009. He originally signed with Carolina before the 2008 season but was waived before training camp. He last played for the Rock River (IL) Raptors of the CIFL indoor league.

No explanation was given for this move. But in today's practice, Andrew Davie was doing all the back-up longsnapping.
