Jets make more moves

DeWitt - The New York Jets have signed free agent G Dennis Conley and waived QB Chris Pizzotti and WR Paul Raymond.

Conley (OG/6-2/300/Hampton University/Suffolk, VA) was waived by the Bears on July 31 after being signed as an undrafted free agent on April 26, 2009. A two-time All-MEAC choice from Hampton, Conley played in 37 games, starting 30, as a left guard.

Don't think for one second Raymond hurt his chances of making the team with the botched punt return on Friday night against St. Louis. Considering how few reps he was getting in practice at wide receiver, he was a goner that.

With all due respect to Conley, it would be shocking if he makes the roster. At best, he's probably a practice squad candidate at this point.

"I'm disappointed (that) I couldn't get Harvard (Chris Pizzotti) in, but I'd rather win instead," Rex Ryan said after the St. Louis preseason game. "That's the way it is."

That's a shame. The kid gets cut before he ever gets to experience getting on the field in an NFL game.
