Tannenbaum responds to Favre's comments

On Wednesday, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre said he was willing to sit last year in New York with the torn biceps injury, but the Jets wanted him to keep playing. Here is what Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum had to say about that -

"I love Brett, I'm glad he was on the team," said Tannenbaum, "We made the decision he gave us the best chance to win."

Was Favre part of that decision?

"It was a decision we made collectively and he was part of that decision," said Tannenbaum. "WE all felt good about the decision to play him down the stretch. It's my understanding that John Elway played in the Super Bowl with a similar injury."

Why wasn't Favre listed on the injury report while nursing that injury for over a month?

"I take responsibility for that," said Tannenbaum. "I should have listed him as 'probable.' The reason we didn't [list him] was because he was going to play."
