Jets trade Washington and pick Connor

The Jets traded running back Leon Washington and a seventh round pick to the Seattle Seahawks for a fifth round pick, and with that pick, the Jets selected Kentucky fullback John Conner.

Connor, who had an injury plagued career at Kentucky, might be the best pure fullback in the draft. Some people at Stanford's Toby Gerhardt ahead of him, but he is more of a tailback.

Connor's hips are a little stiff, but that is the case with most 250-pound fullbacks.

While he's not going to give you much as a runner or receiver, he has the potential to emerge as one of the best blocking fullbacks in the league. He will also be a big help on special teams.

As for Washington, a change of scenary was necessary. Too many bridges were burned by both sides.
