Nutten Landed in NY

The hole at RG no longer exists due to the signing of free agent Tom Nutten.

The Jets have signed offensive lineman Tom Nutten (St. Louis Rams) to replace Randy Thomas (Washington Redskins) at RG.  While contract terms haven't been disclosed yet, the deal is believed to be for four-years with a $600,000 signing bonus.  With incentives the deal could total a reported $5..6 million.

At 6'5", 310 lbs., the 31 year-old Nutten will enter his seventh NFL season on a line that couldn't be assembled any better for his abilities.  Playing between Kevin Mawae and Kareem McKenzie, the loss of Randy Thomas will not be noticed.  Well known as a smart, tough and versatile player, Nutten excels at run blocking and can also deep snap.  His experience includes two Super Bowls and 26 consecutive starts as a Ram.
