Lions grab elusive running back in fourth round

Similar to the Sedrick Irvin pick a few years ago, the Detroit Lions picked up Kentucky scatback Artose Pinner with their fourth round selection. A surprise pick, with several other higher rated RB's available, Pinner had a strong senior season before an injury in the Senior Bowl. Complete analysis on Pinner inside. Learn everything about the new Lions' running back.

Name:  Artose Pinner  School: Kentucky  Year: 4Sr

Ht:  5-10  Wt:  229  40:  4.63  Pos:  RB

Bio: All-Conference selection as a senior after posting career numbers carrying the ball 283 times for 1,414 yards with 13 scores and catching 37 passes for 264 yards and a pair of scores.  Started three games as a junior totaling 100/441/4 on the ground with 12/115/0 as a pass catcher.  Spent his initial two seasons in the program at fullback.  Fractured an ankle during the Senior Bowl and may not be ready to play until May.

Neg: Not fast or one that runs to daylight.  Also not explosive through the hole.

Analysis:   Good sized interior back with solid running skills who will fight for playing time at the next level once healthy.
