Behind Enemy Lines: Rashied Davis

Chicago Bears insider Jeremy Stoltz gives us the scoop on former Bear and new Lions receiver Rashied Davis.

Detroit added wide receiver Rashied Davis to the roster on Thursday. The move is seen as a competitive shove to former third-round pick and underachiever Derrick Williams.

Chicago Bears insider Jeremy Stoltz provided us with this summary on the 32-year old veteran:

From the desk of Jeremy Stoltz, Publisher, Bear Report

Davis is a former Arena League player who at 5-9, 187 pounds won't be a fixture in Detroit's offense. His best pass-catching season came in 2008, when he caught 35 passes for 445 yards and 2 touchdowns. He did have a number of big catches during his six-year tenure in Chicago, yet just as many big drops. As a special teams player though, Davis is outstanding. He was annually one of the Bears' leading tacklers on special teams. As part of the kick coverage units, he'll be an asset, just don't expect much more.
