San Diego has a history of developing undrafted free agents. Current Chargers such as Antonio Gates, Malcom Floyd and Jacques Cesaire first joined the team as UDFAs; those three have combined to play more than 20 years in the league.
Recent prominent Chargers who entered the league undrafted include Kris Dielman, Stephen Cooper and Kassim Osgood.
Last season, Georgia OLB Darryl Gamble made the team as an UDFA. He played in five games, contributing mostly on special teams.
