The contract spans three-years, and is worth approximately $1.25 million including a $336,250 signing bonus. Pinner's base salaries consist of $225,000 for his rookie season, $305,000 next season, and $380,000 in the final year.
A little more than $337,000 will hit Detroit's salary cap.
Pinner becomes the third pick from last April's draft to sign, and the second this week for Detroit.
Selected 99th overall last April, the University of Kentucky product has dealt with injury problems (a leg injury forced him to miss mini-camp), but is valuable as a receiver out of the backfield and is a very shifty runner.
Pinner was All-Conference as a senior with the Wildcats, and carried the ball 283 times for 1,414 yards, including 13 touchdowns. He also caught 37 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns.
Pinner has the tools to become the prototypical west coast running back, but needs to stay healthy.
