Week 2 Rookie Report

Another four catch, 38 yard performance for Charles Rogers, minus the two touchdowns however. The Lions rookie wideout was blanketed by Packers' cornerback Mike McKenzie all day long. More rookie reports inside.

WR - Charles Rogers - Another four catch, 38 yard performance for Rogers, minus the two touchdowns however. The Lions rookie wideout was blanketed by Packers' cornerback Mike McKenzie all day long. Rogers got pushed around quite often, McKenzie jammed him at the line all game long, and Rogers let him get into his body too often. This is a mistake that is correctable though. Once he starts becoming more physical, his size and strength will allow him to get separation from corners when they play press.

SLB - Rodney "Boss" Bailey - Boss was all over the field Sunday, making 3 solo tackles, and assisting on 3 others. Bailey has shown true progress thus far, especially with his coverage skills. The Lions loved him because of his speed, and he has not disappointed in that department. Still needs to work on his tackling skills and recognition, often at times he overruns a play, or has a tough time getting through traffic.

MLB - James Davis - Davis has rejoined the team after sustaining a rib injury in the preseason. Davis is doing light practice drills and is progressing well back to full health. He is listed as questionable for the game on Sunday, but the team will likely let him sit one more game.

DT - Cory Redding - Cory is almost back to 100% after suffering a knee injury which sidelined him half of the preseason, and the first two regular season games. The question is whether or not Steve Mariucci can get him on the 45 man active roster or not, "Cory Redding is a possibility to be up if we can find a way to activate him," said Mariucci.
