Chargers @ Lions: Staff Picks

Lions battle Chargers: staff makes its weekly predictions.

Mike Fowler - Lions Insider (7-5)
The Lions reach a milestone, winning five games for the first time since 1999. They have some fun and put this one out of reach early

PICK: Detroit 24 -- San Diego 10

Josh Turel - Staff Writer (10-2)
Turel picking the Lions! Alert the papers!...Anyway, this is a game the Lions should win. They are coming off a big win against the Packers, and the defense is playing great. The game is at home and they are playing the worst team in the NFL. The stars are aligned for a Lions victory, however there isn't going to be to many stars on the field!

PICK: Detroit 21 -- San Diego 13

Adrian Donofrio - Staff Writer (10-2)
The Chargers have a top-tier running back in Ladanian Tomlinson, and he is always the primary focus on offense with coach Marty Schottenheimer running the show. And run the show he does, as he runs the ball quite frequently. Unfortunately that won't work this week against a Detroit D-Line that has resembled a brick wall as of late, led by stud DT Shaun Rogers. CB Dre Bly may be small but he is clearly the MVP of this team and has played like a Pro Bowler. He may get outmuscled by David Boston but he won't be outworked. The defense's hot streak will not end this week, as they carry a Detroit offense that continues to be stagnant. Sidenote: Jammer vs Harrington should be an interesting matchup.

PICK: Detroit 17 -- San Diego 13

Nick West - Staff Writer (9-3)

Nate Caminata - Publisher (4-8)
The Lions defense is playing as well as it has the entire season, and the San Diego Chargers, while talented offensively, will have a difficult time moving the chains. Look for the Lions' passing game to make some plays and for Mr. Hanson, the NFC's player of the month for November, to fill it up. A two-game winning streak? Just maybe ...

PICK: Detroit 31 -- San Diego 13
