Players to Watch Saturday
David Loverne, the free agent acquisition from St. Louis will have to show that he can hold up against the starting front line of the Pittsburgh Steelers. If Loverne is pushed back on running plays or gives up a couple of sacks, look for Detroit to step up their efforts to sign another quality guard, that could mean the end for newly signed Solomon Page, who didn't pan out at guard. At any rate, Loverne isn't going anywhere.
Andre' Goodman appears to be blossoming as he gets more playing time in the absence of Bly and Bryant. Goodman is solid at the nickle position, but could he push Bryant out of his starting position?
Roy Williams has likely cemented his position as a starter and seems to quickly be developing into Joey Harrington's favorite target. This is exactly what Detroit needs because as good as Charles Rogers is, he seems to fit the role of a complimentary receiver rather than the No. 1 guy. Williams appears comfortable with the role and even relishes it. Watch the big receiver run over and by opposing DBs in his short time on the field Saturday.
