The Detroit Lions announced Monday that they have placed veteran running back Olandis Gary on injured reserve following shoulder surgery. The IR placement will end Gary's season effective immediately.
The team also dismissed veteran receiver Trevor Gaylor, placekicker Chris Snyder, offensive guard Brendan Hall and recently signed linebacker Rodney Thomas.
The moves put the Lions active roster at 81 players. That number must reach 65 by Tuesday.
