A 34-year old woman, formerly of Seattle, Washington, has accused 4 NFL football players of raping her repeatedly in a hotel room on May 6th back in 2000. Members of the Detroit Lions accused in the suit are Quarterback Charlie Batch and Safety Ron Rice.

Also accused in the suit are former Lion Defensive Back Ty Talton and Miami Dolphins' Wide Receiver Dedric Ward.

The alleged act happened at Mandalay Bay Hotel And Casino, where a few of the players repeatedly invited Lisa Harden to sit down and have a drink with them. After a drink they went upstairs, where numerous occurrences of sexual intercourse occurred. However, while the players have stated that the sex was consensual, the woman claims that she was slipped the date-rape drug in her drink, and this is why she has trouble remembering parts of the evening.

Batch released a statement stating: "I vehemently deny the allegations. The police investigated in May 2000 and found nothing illegal took place. These accusations are just another example of how success in sports makes someone a target."

The suit has asked for $20,000 in damages, although that number could increase.

The matter was investigated back in May of 2000, but there were no charges made due to "insufficient evidence". Both the Detroit Lions and the National Football League said that they were looking into it and would reserve comment until they had more information.
