Packers vs Lions: Matchups To Watch

GAME PLAN: The Lions do not buy into the theory that the Packers offense has fallen on hard times. As long as QB Brett Favre is pulling the trigger, the Lions have to make sure he and his receivers are all accounted for on every play. Offensively, the Lions have played conservatively to avoid turnovers and might continue that trend Sunday, attacking the Packers' run defense, which ranks No. 31 in the NFL.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH:
Lions DT Shaun Rogers vs. Packers RB Ahman Green: Green went 65 yards the first time he touched the football against the Lions a year ago on his way to a 160-yard rushing game. Rogers is the cornerstone of the defense that now has not given up a 100-yard rushing game to an individual back since last Nov. 16.

Lions CB Fernando Bryant vs. Packers WR Javon Walker: Walker is averaging 17.3 yards on 31 receptions and has scored five touchdowns. He has a big size advantage (6-feet-3, 215 pounds) on Bryant (5-feet-11, 175).

Lions QB Joey Harrington vs. Packers FS Darren Sharper. Although Harrington hasn't posted gaudy numbers in the first four games, he has avoided costly interceptions, but if he doesn't have WR Roy Williams (ankle), he might have to take more risks than he likes and that could be dangerous. Sharper already has two interceptions.
