After a four-year absence, the Detroit Lions are returning to Monday Night Football.
Unfortunately, it's only the pre-season.
The NFL announced its pre-season schedule on Wednesday, an assortment of 64 games divided between its 32 teams.
Below is a list of the Lions' tentative pre-season dates.
Friday, August 12 @ New York Jets, 7:00 PM (Local FOX)
Friday, August 19 Cleveland, 7:00 PM(Local FOX)
Monday, August 29 St. Louis, 8:00 PM (Monday Night Game - ABC)
Friday, September 2 @ Buffalo, 7:00 PM (Local FOX)
Ironically, the MNF appearance is Detroit's first since a 35-0 thumping applied by the Rams in 2001. The league is billing the game as a matchup between second-year running back's Kevin Jones and Stephen Jackson (St. Louis), and a preview of FFord Field prior to the season's Super Bowl -- which will be hosted in Detroit.
