Free agent cornerback Ty Law is heading to Detroit on Monday to take a physical with the Lions. The visit is expected to include a full on field workout according to a source inside the Detroit Lions organization.

Per that source it's not known if the Lions will make a contract offer but all indications are that Law's visit on Monday is to spur more visits with other NFL teams including the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to his agent Carl Poston, Law has six teams that are in the market for his services. The issue holding up negotiations with every NFL team is that Law hopes to get the 4-year $24 million contract that he turned down from the Patriots midway through last season from another team.

A league source tells Warpaint Illustrated that the Chiefs would be willing to pay him a $10 million 2-year deal if he passes a physical. Thus far Law has been unwilling to visit a team to do that but that all changed over the weekend when his doctors and trainers felt that he was ready to workout with NFL teams.
