The Detroit Lions trimmed their roster to 72 players on Tuesday, holding some over for NFL Europe allocations as the team met the league's 4:00 pm EST deadline.

The Detroit Lions trimmed their roster to 72 players on Tuesday, holding some over for NFL Europe allocations as the team met the league's 4:00 pm EST deadline.

Among those the team waived include Western Michigan product Adam Anderson (punter) and recently signed quarterback Timmy Chang.

Defensive tackles Kevin Carberry and Marcus Jasmin, LB Nigel Eldridge, safeties Chip Cox and Kentrell Curry, CB Michael Echols, FB Greg Hanoian, RB Howard Jackson, K Ryan Killeen, guards Levi Newton and Cory Proctor, WR Steve Savoy and TE Justin Swift round out the fifteen released.

The team will have to make its NFL Europe allocations and trim the roster down to the league mandatory 53 by Saturday at 6:00 pm EST.

Detroit will then make its NFL Europe allocations and name its eight player practice squad.
