CLEVELAND - According to reports, Lions' veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia will get the start for Sunday's contest against the Cleveland Browns.
The last time Garcia played during the regular season was as a starter for the Browns last year. In 10 total starts, he finished the 2004 season with 1,731 passing yards on 144 of 252 passing, including 10 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. His quarterback rating was 76.7.
Garcia shared snaps with starter Joey Harrington during the course of the week, and has returned sufficiently from a broken fibula and ankle injury suffered in early September.
The report stemmed from two sources, FOX2 in Detroit and 1270 radio based out of Detroit. The Lions have not confirmed the rumor, and it is unlikely anything will become apparent until the starting lineups are named just prior to kick-off.
