QB Joey Harrington suffered through his third consecutive subpar performance in the Lions 40-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Harrington struggled again with accuracy, completing just 20 of 44 passes, although his receivers and backs dropped -- by unofficial count -- eight balls. Harrington hit WR Az-Zahir Hakim with a 64-yard TD pass on his first throw of the game and later connected with TE Mikhael Ricks on a one-yard TD throw but struggled most of the afternoon.
PR/KOR Desmond Howard, who has been hampered by neck and rib injuries in recent weeks, had a productive day returning kickoffs in his return to fulltime duty Sunday in the Lions' 40-14 loss at Green Bay. Howard returned five kicks for 120 yards but had just one yard on two punt returns.
WR Bill Schroeder's season of misery continues. Schroeder has been hampered by injuries off and on all season, but his latest problem is his hands. He was unofficially charged with four dropped balls Sunday in his return to Green Bay with the Lions, and didn't catch a pass all day. Coach Marty Mornhinweg eventually benched him after several drops.
WR Az-Zahir Hakim posted good numbers on an otherwise average day for both himself and the Lions receiving corps. Hakim caught a 64-yard touchdown pass from QB Joey Harrington on the Lions first play of the game on his way to seven catches for 143 yards in the 40-14 loss to Green Bay. In spite of the impressive numbers, Hakim unofficially had three dropped passes also.
RB James Stewart might not be the prototypical NFL big-play running back but continues to be productive in the Lions' West Coast offense. In the 40-14 loss to Green Bay, he rushed for 122 yards -- including a career-best 56-yard run from scrimmage -- on 15 carries and caught two passes for another 19 yards. Stewart was playing despite back pains which had limited his practice time last week.
