The Detroit Lions selected nine players in the 2008 draft and now have seven under contract.
The latest to sign were third-round picks Kevin Smith (RB) and Andre Fluellen (DE), fifth-rounders Kenneth Moore (WR) and James Felton (FB) and seventh-round selections Landon Cohen (DE) and Caleb Campbell (S).
Fluellen, a defensive tackle from Florida St. University, signed a three-year deal with the following minimum base salaries: (08) $295,000 (09) $385,000 (10) $470,000 along with a signing bonus of just over $511,000.
Fluellen is seen as a good fit for head coach Rod Marinelli's cover-2 defensive scheme because of his ability to shed blocks and to disrupt plays.
Cohen signed for the same base salaries over his three-year deal. He'll also get a signing bonus of just short of $44,000.
The former Ohio University defensive tackle is seen as a developmental practice squad candidate.
Terms of the other deals were not immediately available.
The Lions still have yet to sign first-round pick Gosder Cherilus, the towering offensive tackle from Boston College, or middle linebacker Jordon Dizon, whom many predict will compete for the starting position.
