Two Lions' Executives Leave Team

The Detroit Lions have officially announced that Vice President Kevin Warren, along with the assistant to President Matt Millen, will be leaving the ball club. Warren was originally Matt Millen's first hire when he took over in 2001.

The Detroit Lions officially announced that Senior Vice-President Kevin Warren, along with the assistant of President Matt Millen, Kent Newhart, would be leaving the organization.

It was reported earlier in the week that Warren was dismissed by Millen, although the team did not comment specifically on the departure.

"We appreciate the efforts and contributions of Kevin and Kent during the past two years," said Millen in a Press Release. "We wish them both the best in all their future endeavors."

Both Newhart and Warren joined the Lions in 2001, and at the time, Warren was specifically mentioned by Millen to be a key building block to the team's future.

Warren was also Millen's first official hire, whom was coaxed into leaving the St. Louis Rams after a successful four-year stint
