Mariucci adds three to coaching staff

Steve Mariucci doesn't waste much time. By the time the Lions held their press conference Wednesday introducing Mariucci as the team's head coach, he had already made adjustments to the Lions coaching staff.

(DETROIT, MI)—By the time the Lions held their press conference introducing new head coach Steve Mariucci, he had already made adjustments to the Lions coaching staff.

Mariucci announced he was bringing in three new assistants who were part of his former support staff in San Francisco

They include:
Linebackers coach Richard Smith, who was named assistant head coach. Smith is a 16-year NFL veteran.

Andy Sugarman joins the Lions staff as an offensive assistant at-large. Sugarman is expected to work on some of the specialty packages the Lions will use on offense.

Former Michigan State Spartan Kevin Lartigue who was the 49ers equipment manager will come aboard as an administrative assistant working closely with Mariucci.
