According to NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline, Lions' head coach Steve Mariucci is clearly representing the Detroit Lions at the Indianapolis player combine, and has already demonstrated a strong interest in three particular players.

Among several players that Mariucci and his staff are evaluating, three have been watched heavily. These potential draftee's include Michigan State wide receiver Charles Rogers, Miami receiver Andre Johnson, and Kansas State standout defensive back Terrence Newman.

During a FOX Sports broadcast on Thursday, Mariucci stated that wide receiver, linebackers, and defensive backfield would be positions the team would like to upgrade via the draft.

The coach said he did feel comfortable at defensive line, putting to rest a rumor that the team was interested in Arizona State defensive end Terrell Suggs.

The Lions currently harbor the number 2 overall pick during the draft, which will commence on April 26.
