Mason Crosby Profile
During Thursday's minicamp practice — the final workout until the start of training camp next month — Mason Crosby showed off his leg during individual drills. Kicking with the wind at his back, Crosby put a 68-yard field goal about halfway up the net. On his next kick, he hit the cross bar from 70 yards. Then, he connected from 70 yards.
Crosby is coming off the best season of his career, connecting on 24-of-28 field goal attempts. He made a team-record 23 field goals in a row spanning the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
"There's always one or two things you can just improve on," he said recently. "Obviously, I didn't make every kick, so definitely that's a new goal and now I have a number that I can try to eclipse. There's always things you set and try to get better with. This offseason has been good to have Brett (Goode, the snapper) and Tim (Masthay, the holder). We've already been able to work together and get the operation going again. This is three years now with these guys and being able to go out and feel comfortable with that operation is definitely a positive. It's something I'm going to build off of from last year."
