Desmond Bishop Profile
According to a source with access to the NFL's transaction wire, standout inside linebacker Desmond Bishop failed his pre-training camp physical with a non-football injury.
No other information was available and coach Mike McCarthy did not address Bishop at his Wednesday pre-camp news conference.
Others failing their physicals were fullback John Kuhn (knee), tight end Andrew Quarless (knee), tackle Derek Sherrod (broken leg), linebacker Frank Zombo (unspecified injury), guard Jaymes Brooks (hamstring) and defensive lineman Johnny Jones (unspecified injury).
Those seven will start the season on the physically unable to perform list, which prevents them from practicing until they pass their physical. Starting the season on this "active" PUP list means the Packers have the option of placing them on PUP to start the season, a designation that would keep the player out for the first six weeks of the regular season.
