Rodgers Winning Fundamentals

The quarterback is the only Packers player selected to the USA Football/NFLPA All-Fundamentals Team. Rodgers was selected based on his throwing mechanics.

USA Football, the sport's national governing body, and the NFL Players Association have selected Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the 2010 USA Football/NFL Players Association All-Fundamentals Team.

"Rodgers is able to lead one of the NFL's most prolific passing attacks because of his outstanding throwing mechanics," USA Football said. "The sixth-year pro from California stands as an example for young quarterbacks to follow. In the community, Rodgers hosted the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer event in May that helps fund research for childhood cancer cure, including blood disorders."

The roster includes 11 players on offense, 11 on defense and four on special teams, with selections based on fundamentals and the players' impact in their communities. Rodgers — the NFL's all-time leader in interception percentage (2.0 percent) — was selected based on his throwing mechanics. He is the only Packers player on this year's team. Ryan Grant was the running back last season after not losing a fumble on a running play all of last season.

The roster:

Offense: QB Aaron Rodgers, RB LaDainian Tomlinson, FB Vonta Leach, WR Kevin Walter, WR Davone Bess, TE Jason Witten, OT Jake Long, OT Michael Roos, G Eric Wood, G Brian Waters, C Casey Wiegmann.

Defense: DE Justin Tuck, DE Kyle Vanden Bosch, DT Halota Ngata, DT Jay Ratliff, LB Jonathan Vilma, LB LaMarr Woodley, LB Barrett Ruud, CB Antoine Winfield, CB Champ Bailey, S Darren Sharper, S Antoine Bethea.

Special teams: K Jason Hanson, P Sam Koch, LS Patrick Mannelly, KR Joshua Cribbs.

Game-action clips supplied by NFL Films and related video from USA Football's drills library, as well as more details on the team, can be found here.

As part of this honor, All-Fundamentals Team players will designate a youth or high school football program that will receive a $1,500 equipment grant from USA Football. Each player also receives an All-Fundamentals Team helmet trophy produced by Riddell, the official protective equipment partner of USA Football and the official helmet of the NFL.
