Sapp to visit Wisconsin

Bring up the name Warren Sapp in Packer country, and "philantropist" isn't one of the words that comes to mind. But Sapp plans to visit Wisconsin this weekend to participate in Darren Sharper's charity golf outing, despite any hard feelings harbored by Packer fans. Tampa Bay's Sapp earned his rep by applying a hit on Chad Clifton which caused a severe injury from which the lineman is still recovering.<P>

According to event organizers, Sapp will honor h8is commitment to play in the Darren Sharper Open Friday at Hidden Glen Golf Club in Cedarburg, Wis.

Sapp will join Brett Favre and about three dozen other NFL players and celebrities. The event, which raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Sharper Kids Foundation, is co-hosted by Sharper and his brother Jamie Sharper of the Houston Texans. It is not open to the public.

Sharper said he has discussed the Clifton incident with Sapp.

"A lot of people carry stuff that happened on the field to off the field," Sharper said. "But we're going to have enough security there, so t won't be any problem for (Sapp) - from our guys or anyone else who comes around there."
