Roster move: Quarterback waived

Reducing their stable of quarterbacks to five, the Green Bay Packers today placed first-year quarterback Zak Kustok on waivers.<p>

Kustok signed with the Packers on Feb. 7 and participated in the team's post-draft and June minicamps. The former Northwestern University starter, originally signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent April 26, 2002, but released when the roster was reduced to 65 players in training camp.

Doug Pederson, Craig Nall, newly-acquired Akili Smith and Eric Crouch will be competing for backup spots behind Brett Favre during training camp this season.
