Johnson enters plea

Packers defensive end Joe Johnson has pleaded innocent to a charge of marijuana possession, officials said. <p>

In doing so, Johnson has waived his right to an arraignment hearing. Johnson will have an opportunity to file motions and request a jury or bench trial on July 17, according to Johnson's attorney Max Richardson.

Johnson was charged with marijuana possession May 22 in Tifton, Ga. His car was approached by a deputy who had seen Johnson's vehicle stopped in a highway turning lane, according to reports.
