Cornerback Chris Johnson officially became a Packer Tuesday as the team signed the Louisville speedster to a multi-year contract, the team announced.<p>

The Packers secured Johnson, reportedly the fastest player in this year's draft, in the seventh round. He became the ninth of the draft class of '03 signed by Green Bay.

Louisville coaches described Johnson as: "Big and fast athlete with the physical tools to play at the next level ... hard-worker ... very coachable and extremely physical."

Johnson has been impressive in minicamps and posts an awesome 4.23 40-yard dash.

The 5-11, 195-pound Johnson spent two years with Louisville after transferring from Blinn (Junior) College. He started only eight games in his collegiate career.

Johnson's career numbers with the Cardinals include 26 games and 44 tackles with 7 passes defensed.
