Defensive end Earl Cochran and wide receiver Kamau Peterson, both free agents, recently signed contracts with the Green Bay Packers.<p>
Cochran, who was passed over in the recent NFL supplementary draft, reportedly received a three-year deal. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound rookie had 26 sacks and 48.5 tackles for a loss at Alabama State. He was a second-team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference pick last year, finishing with 62 tackles (25 solo), 18 tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks.
Peterson played the last two seasons for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. He caught 99 passes for 1,396 yards and seven touchdowns. The 6-0, 181-pound receiver had signed as a free agent with the New York Jets this past February, then was waived June 19.
Peterson, a native of Windsor, Ontario, caught 80 passes for 1,124 yards and eight touchdowns for the University of New Hampshire.
