Jennings Should Play vs. Vikings

Greg Jennings, who returned to practice this week, was inactive again as coach Mike McCarthy worried about a fatigue injury. Clay Matthews is questionable for next week. Plus, starters C.J. Wilson and M.D. Jennings were knocked out by injuries.

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy expects receiver Greg Jennings will be a full participant at practice on Wednesday and will play on Sunday against Minnesota.

Jennings was inactive for the seventh consecutive game because of an abdominal injury that required surgery on Nov. 1.

"It really came down yesterday," McCarthy said of the decision. "We talked. He felt good. Actually, he looked good. The film looked good. There was no reason to not play him just for the one fact, fatigue, and his ability not to have a full week of full reps because he hadn't played in so long. I fully expect Greg to be a full participant Wednesday and obviously if the week goes as it should I would think he would be ready to go for Minnesota."

While that's the good news, there were a few doses of bad news on the injury front.

Clay Matthews, who missed a second consecutive game with an injured hamstring, is getting close but is "not as close as Greg," McCarthy said. If Matthews plays against the Vikings, he'll be doing it on limited practice reps.

Starting defensive end C.J. Wilson sustained a knee injury on the first play of the game and shut it down after getting pancaked on a running play late in the first quarter. Wilson will know more after meeting with the training staff on Monday.

"Hopefully, it's not too bad," he said. Starting safety M.D. Jennings exited with injured ribs and running back Johnny White sustained a concussion.
