Seventh-Rounders Get Futures Deals

Offensive tackle Andrew Datko and quarterback B.J. Coleman are among eight players signed on Monday.

The eight players who finished the season on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad were signed to futures contracts, the team announced on Monday.

Those players are tight end Brandon Bostick, quarterback B.J. Coleman, offensive tackle Andrew Datko, center Garth Gerhart, guard Joe Gibbs, outside linebacker Micah Johnson, cornerback James Nixon and safety Chaz Powell.

Bostick, Coleman and Datko spent the entire season on the practice squad. Coleman and Datko were the team's seventh-round draft picks; Bostick was an undrafted rookie who failed to get a contract after trying out at the rookie camp but was brought back in May.

McCarthy and Co. will lead NFC

Mike McCarthy and his staff will coach the NFC squad at the Pro Bowl, which will be played Jan. 27 in Honolulu.

The all-star teams are coached by the best team eliminated during the divisional round of the playoffs. The AFC squad will be coached by Denver's staff.

McCarthy and his coaches led the NFL team last year, too. In 2007, when the Pro Bowl was held after the Super Bowl, McCarthy coached the team following Green Bay's loss in the NFC Championship Game.
