Also, running back Eddie Lacy was named the NFC's Offensive Rookie of the Month. Crosby led the league with 13 field goals and 50 points in October, helping the Packers go 4-0 to get into first place in the NFC North. Crosby's point total was 11 more than second-place Nick Folk.
Crosby made five field goals against Detroit, four field goals against Baltimore and three field goals against Minnesota.
This is Crosby's second monthly award, having claimed it as a rookie in November 2007.
Detroit receiver Calvin Johnson won the award on offense and Dallas linebacker Sean Lee won on defense. In the AFC, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, Colts linebacker Robert Mathis and Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski were the winners.
For the rookie award, Lacy got it by leading all NFL backs with 97 carries for 395 yards in October. He also finished third overall and first among rookies with 442 yards from scrimmage this month.
Lacy rushed for at least 80 yards in every game this month, the first Packers rookie running back to accomplish that feat.
