History Shows Challenge for Rookie Receivers

It's tough being a rookie wide receiver, as the statistics from the past eight draft classes clearly demonstrate. The numbers show the hard road ahead for the Packers' three-man rookie receiving class.

It's not easy being a rookie wide receiver, as the Green Bay Packers' Davante Adams, Jared Abbrederis and Jeff Janis likely will find out. Here are the top five receiving numbers (in terms of receptions) from the 2006 through 2013 drafts, plus the top Year 2 numbers to demonstrate the first-year to second-year jump.

2013 ROOKIES: Keenan Allen, SD, 71-1,046,-8; DeAndre Hopkins, HOU, 52-802-2; Ace Sanders, JAX, 51-484-1; Marlon Brown, BAL, 49-524-7; Cordarrelle Patterson, MIN, 45-469-4. Average: 54 receptions, 665 yards, 4.4 touchdowns.
