Some interesting by-the-numbers stuff from the NFL’s Countdown to Kickoff series.

Crowning achievements

Since the NFL went to a 12-division format for the 2002 season, 28 teams have won at least one division championship. The Packers are tied for third during that span with seven division titles and nine playoff berths.

Packing their bags

The Packers, relatively speaking, won’t be piling up too many frequent-flier miles this season. The total length of their eight road games is 9,530 miles. That ranks 25th in the league. The Raiders fly a league-high 36,078 miles. Circling the globe is about 25,000 miles.

Making their points

Sure, defense wins championships. But offense wins games. Of the 11 teams that scored at least 400 points last season, nine qualified for the playoffs, none had a losing record and they combined for a .668 winning percentage.
