Packers-Vikings Injury Report: Wednesday

One reason why the Green Bay Packers have been able to move Clay Matthews to a part-time role at inside linebacker is the depth at outside linebacker.

That depth is under at least a little stress to start the practice week. Nick Perry was held out of Wednesday’s practice with a shoulder injury and Matthews was limited with an injured groin.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Matthews “doesn’t have high concern” about the injury. Perry might work a little on Thursday but could be held out until Saturday. If Perry is limited or out on Sunday, it potentially could impact how much the Packers could use Matthews inside, so his health will be a key development to watch.

Starting guards Josh Sitton (toe) and T.J. Lang (ankle) did not participate, either. They’ve played – and played well -- the last two weeks with the injuries on little to no practice time.

“It’s the same if not a little bit better,” Sitton said. “Nothing worse. As long as we’re not regressing, then I’m happy.”

For the Vikings, receivers Greg Jennings (rib) and Jarius Wright (hamstring) and running backs Matt Asiata (concussion) and Jerick McKinnon (back) did not participate. Jennings, the former Packers star, leads the team with 36 receptions while Wright is third with 26 catches. McKinnon and Asiata are the top two rushers.
