If the Packers had practiced on Friday, Perry (shoulder injury against Philadelphia) would not have worked while Jones (sprained ankle on Thursday) would have been limited participation. Coach Mike McCarthy hopes both players can be limited during Saturday’s light workout before flying to Minneapolis.
If Perry can’t play, it would be a key loss. He’s started the last two games, with his strong play giving the coaching staff the flexibility to put Clay Matthews at inside linebacker in certain packages. The Packers could still use that package, with Mike Neal joining Julius Peppers as the outside linebackers, but perhaps not as much.
According to the snap counts at ProFootballFocus.com, Perry has played his highest snap counts of the season the past two weeks.
“It will adjust, no doubt,” McCarthy said. “Certain reps will go to different players, obviously. But we’re prepared for that. That’s really why you operate in the different personnel groups during the week, which we have. We’ll be ready to go either way.”
For the Vikings, defensive tackle Sharif Floyd (knee) and receivers Greg Jennings (rib) and Jarius Wright (hamstring) are questionable. Floyd sat out Friday’s practice but Jennings and Wright were full participation.
