Daniels, who had a big game against New England, was sidelined by an injured back. Coach Mike McCarthy called it a “day-to-day thing.” Cornerback Sam Shields sustained a concussion during the second quarter of the New England game.
McCarthy rewarded the team for its victory over New England by giving it most of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off. McCarthy thought the team was refreshed, which is always a good thing heading into December.
“Hell, they better be (refreshed),” McCarthy said. “They got an extra day off, three days. It was good. Practice was good today. I thought it started a little slow. The outside work was very good. We had a pretty productive day, so far. We've still got some more work to do. They're back. They’re into it.”
For Atlanta, veteran receiver Roddy White did not participate due to an ankle injury that sidelined him for last week's game against Arizona. Coach Mike Smith, in a conference call on Thursday, said White might practice on Friday and the extra day until Monday will help White return to action.
