Denzel Perryman has started 37-of-47 games at Miami – 18 as a weak-side outside line-backer and 19 more while manning the middle…The two-time season leader has recorded 351 tackles that includes 240 solo hits, adding 4.5 sacks, 27.0 stops for losses and five quarterback pressures…Caused seven fumbles, deflected 10 passes and had two interceptions.

Career milestones

NCAA Career-Record Results: Among active NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision players, Perryman ranks ninth with 351 total tackles and third with 240 solo hits…Those figures place him at the top of the chart among current Atlantic Coast Conference performers.

School Career-Record Results: Perryman is just the ninth player in school history to record 350 tackles (351) in a career, as he joins Dan Morgan (532; 1997-2000), George Mira Jr. (490; 1984-87), Scott Nicolas (456; 1978-80), Micheal Barrow (423; 1989-92), Darrin Smith (401; 1989-92), Ray Lewis (388; 1993-95), Jonathan Vilma (377; 2000-03) and Rod Carter (361; 1985-88) in that elite group. Coincidentally, all mentioned in this list are former Miami linebackers.

School Season-Record Results: Perryman led the team with 108 tackles in 2013 and 110 hits in 2014, joining fellow linebackers George Mira Jr (135 in 1985; 122 in 1986; 147 in 1987), Maurice Crum (110 in 1988, 98 in 1989; 128 in 1990), Ray Lewis (152 in 1994; 160 in 1995), Dan Morgan (105 in 1997; 150 in 1998; 138 in 2000) and Jonathan Vilma (73 in 2001; 133 in 2002; 127 in 2003) as the only Hurricanes to lead the team in tackles in multiple seasons.

2014 SEASON

The Associated Press All-American third-team selection and Butkus Award finalist was a consensus All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team selection during his move back to middle linebacker for his senior season…Perryman led the team for the second-straight year with 110 tackles, as his 79 solo hits ranked 14th in the nation…Added two sacks for minus 10 yards, a career-high 9.5 stops for losses of 30 yards and three forced fumbles, in addition to deflecting five passes and intercepting another for a 20-yard return.

2014 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Perryman opened the season at middle linebacker, posting a game-high 12 tackles vs. Louisville, as he registered 11 solo stops vs. Cardinals, included first sack of season (three yards)...Led the team with six tackles vs. Florida A&M that included a key third-down stop for a loss...Ranked second on team with seven tackles (five solos) in the win over Arkansas State...Added six tackles vs. Nebraska and had a dominant all-around game vs. Duke, totaling five tackles (four solos), one forced fumble and an interception that he returned for 20 yards, as he also had one pass deflection vs. Blue Devils...Ranked second on the team with nine tackles (seven solos) vs. Georgia Tech and made six tackles (four solos) vs. Cincinnati...Paced the team with 11 tackles (six solos) vs. Virginia Tech, as he also forced one of three fumbles vs. the Hokies and recorded a pass break-up...Followed with 10 tackles (nine solos), a sack and a pass deflection vs. North Carolina and paced the defense with nine tackles (seven solos and a stop behind the line of scrimmage vs. Florida State...Tied his career-high with 15 tackles vs. Virginia, including 13 solo stops, as he added one stop-for-loss and one forced fumble vs. the Cavaliers...Credited with six hits, including 1.5 tackles-for-loss vs. Pittsburgh...Closed out his career with eight tackles (six solos) and a stop behind the line of scrimmage in the Independence Bowl vs. South Carolina.

2013 SEASON

Perryman was honored with an All-ACC first-team selection from the ACSMA, the league’s coaches, The NFL Draft Report and Sporting News…After lining up at middle linebacker as a sophomore, he shifted to weak-side outside linebacker, leading the team with 108 tackles (69 solos), adding 1.5 sacks for minus 9 yards, two quarterback pressures and five stops for losses totaling 15 yards…Deflected three passes and caused one fumble…Had six games where he posted at least ten tackles.

2013 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Recorded a team-high six tackles and two pass break-ups vs. Florida Atlantic and was in on 13 tackles and a forced fumble in an upset win over Florida, earning ACC Linebacker of the Week honors for that performance…Tallied a game-high 11 tackles vs. Georgia Tech and collected 12 tackles in a comeback road win at North Carolina—seven of which came in first half...Notched six tackles vs. Wake Forest and led the team with 11 tackles and a stop-for-loss Florida State...Registered a career-high 15 tackles - including 10 solo stops - and 1.5 sacks in a home loss to Virginia Tech...Totaled 13 tackles in a road loss at Duke, but broke the 100-tackle mark with six solo stops in a road win at Pittsburgh...Made four tackles vs. Louisville in Russell Athletic Bowl...Recipient of the Hard Hitter Award and named team Defensive MVP at the end-of-season team awards show.

2012 SEASON

The All-ACC honorable mention started six of the nine games he played in at middle linebacker, as ankle problems forced him to sit out the Virginia, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State contests…Still managed to rank second on the team with 64 tackles (45 solos), making six stops for losses of 14 yards…Caused a fumble vs. Florida State and returned his first career interception 41 yards for a touchdown vs. Boston College.

2011 SEASON

Perryman played in all twelve games, starting five contests at weak-side outside line-backer…Ranked second on the team and led all Atlantic Coast Conference freshmen with 69 tackles (47 solos) that included 6.5 stops for minus 13 yards, as he also caused a pair of fumbles.

INJURY REPORT

2014 Season: Perryman failed to complete the agility and alternate drills at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine due to a left hip flexor injury.

2012 Season: Perryman sat out the Georgia Tech and North Carolina State games with a high ankle sprain, returning to the lineup following North Carolina State game, but he missed the Virginia contest when he re-injured his ankle vs. the Wolfpack.
